A Message

I wish to express my condolences for the loss of countless people due to the massive earthquake and tsunami.

And my heard bleeds for the people who have lost their loved ones, the place to return, spending their days worrying.

Among the areas heavily damaged this time, Iwate is my mother's birthplace and Miyagi is where my grand mother rests in peace. I thought what I could do now and made a blood contribution as well as donation to the suffered area through Japanese Red Cross Society.

I think there are many people who are making donations as well as other types of contributions feeling the same as I do, not only across Japan but also from abroad. We will overcome the difficulties together, remembering the spirit of mutual aid and love, even after the coverage of the disaster eventually fades away on TV.

I feel there is something every single of us should learn and notice from this situation.

It is the fact that our convenient life which we take for granted, is built on a very fragile system; that we are greatly dependent on electric power especially on nuclear electric power, and a certain local areas bear the large part of the burden and risk of it.

We could reduce waste together, if we realize that food and supplies, energy and resouces, our lives, all these are not something we "take for granted" but we are "gratefully given," as well as change our mindset from "use as available" to "use as needed," being aware of what is wasteful. The world with less waste, might be the world with less sorrow.

I hope the hurt of all the afflicted people's mind and body will be eased and smiles return back on their face as soon as possible.

Live is just around the corner

Well well time flies this fast and December is already here, Bonjour “(`(エ)´)ﾉ彡☆!!

My 2-days concert WILD LIFE at Yokohama arena is just two days away.

Sorry to all you guys living outside Tokyo as the shows are held only in Tokyo this time !!

Instead it has become possible to hold live-viewings at the theaters across Japan thanks to good lucks!

The live broadcast is to start from 7PM on 8th, at the same time as the show starts.

It would look different from what you see live in Yokohama Arena, but we will broadcast the show with the images exclusive for the theaters as well as a high quality sound.


On top of that! we're gonna stream the show on the net too though the sound quality is not good as that for the theaters! A big treat !!

Almost all the movies at my YouTube official channel ( www.youtube.hikki ) were taken down "due to a copyright claim" and whatnot, but they've come back this morning!

Well I said almost all, because,

There was this movie called "Kuma Chang's office visit," the hero who only remained intact and survived this disaster while all the other videos at my channel were temporarily gone - and who doubled its total number of views taking this opportunity. You know, it might look like I've been ignoring this site since I started twitter. So sorry for you guys checking here!

Lately so much news, or should I better call it information (release of my new album, chaku-uta release of first single from the album, start of accepting ticket inquiries for my concert and such) keeps coming in in waves, and honestly I myself can't keep up with it（；･`ω･´）

Hikki's Website at EMI always moves fast and upload such information real quick while nothing appears here on u3music site . . . which I find not very good! So I asked some repair works for this site to make it easier to check news for you who's checking only this site.

I mean, a pop-up window that shows the links to my twitter page and special site of my Yokohama Arena concerts in December, as well as news and information should appear soon when accessing this site.

You may say it's too late(lo) but during this time where lots of information are buzzing I say it's -

- better late than never!

My current feelings

"Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol.2" is to be released on 24th November! It includes my singles released over the past 6 months, as well as the acoustic mix version of Beautiful World used in "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance," plus my brand-new 5 songs! I put my energy into them after EMI and I decided the release this summer. I wanna take it to all of you as soon as possible.

Now, out of the clear blue sky I heard something called "Utada the best" was to be released from Universal, the company I worked for in English in the name of Utada. And you know what, they set exactly the same release date. It's a "me-too" sales plan that hitches a ride on the release of Utada Hikaru's "Single Collection Vol.2."

The release of "Utada the best" is totally unrelated to my will. No new materials in it, it's just a "commodity" with no hearts in it. It is me who is to be bashed, backbitten like "she's already a has-been" and such if it didn't sell well, but honestly I feel bad about making you my fans use your money for it. I wanna say you don't have to buy that "best" if you already have other works in the name of Utada.

Record companies are "companies" intended to gain profits even though they deal with "music." I understand that point very well, and I am a type of person who listens to them should their business in tough situation. I could support the release of these "best" type of material if it could be made as something worthwhile for all fans, the record company and me through mutual discussion.

The release of "Utada the best" by Universal this time is, in my view, a very sad decision.

They could put off the date, or think up the way of release to make my fans happy by making the contents better and such . . . I desperately encouraged them but it brought us nowhere so far.

The release is solely decided by their management level, so I have no hard feelngs toward the staff people of Universal. My comments might be troubling the people in charge of promoting. I am sorry for that.

I thank you my fans for reading this complicated story!

Tokyo Girl Kuma Collection at my home

I heard an event called Tokyo Girls Collection was held yesterday.

And you know, from a couple of days ago it seems my record company received this inquiry many times asking if I would take part in it, which eventually pushed the staff to contact me.

They asked me "Er, Hikaru-san, we are wondering if you would participate in Tokyo Girls Collection . . . . "

;｀;:ﾞ;｀(;ﾟ;ж;ﾟ; )*gasps*

A, are you asking if I'd show up in Tokyo Girls Collection . . . . ?! That totally makes no sense (just which category I'd fit?)

OMG! I can't sit around, gotta run to ask Kyouhei-chan to prepare the costume . . . the costume, that can show a bit of my ass cheek, hmmm, and what I shouldn't forget is those ample curves, maybe I could wear a kuma-printed bikini, but I could give a huge impact on all if I wore Kuma Chang suit!

Scratch that!

I wonder from where such a strange rumor came.

Of course I didn't take part in Tokyo Girls Collection. I can't be called first of all . . . (lol)

Instead I held an off-the-cuff anything-goes type Girl & Kuma Collection. At my home of course! Like I model-walked in the kitchen in super-high heels, wearing Kuma ears!
Woohoo! Ahahh! You're a superstar! All right!

I did all these sort of things and went back to wash dishes after I got tired.
